The CCL Hunter Valley Wine Show held a weeklong celebration to mark its 50th anniversary, beginning on Monday 15th August with wine show judging at Singleton Lone Pine Barracks, and ending on Friday 19th August with an industry event at Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley.
Brokenwood is pleased to announce a top result after receiving three trophies and a scholarship.

Ed Jouault Memorial Trophy for Best One-Year Old Semillon:
2021 Brokenwood Oakey Creek Vineyard Semillon
John Lewis Newcastle Herald Trophy for Best Museum Red Wine: 2014 Brokenwood Verona Vineyard Shiraz
2022 Tyrrell Family Advanced Viticulture Scholarship awarded to Brokenwood Cellar Hand, Hayden Tinkler
This is the third consecutive year that Brokenwood has won the Best Current Vintage Semillon and the second consecutive year that we have won the Best One-Year Old Semillon. These results bode well for the older classes in coming years.
“The Semillon Classes across the board were all a pleasure to judge with the best wines having a perfect balance of expression and power" says Samantha Connew who led the judging panel as Chair of Judges.
It was also pleasing to see our 2014 Verona Vineyard Shiraz take home the trophy for Best Museum Red Wine. 2014 was an outstanding vintage in the Hunter Valley, and the Verona Vineyard is an exceptional site.
