Margaret River, WA
Lifted cassis and tobacco aromas with some fine oak in the background make this wine very appealing. A medium to full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon with sage notes, and fine, long tannins from both the fruit and oak on the palate. Lovely acidity and a cedar finish describe a Cabernet Sauvignon that will age for many years.

Vinification
The grapes were destemmed and spent 14 days on skins.
Brokenwood winemaking is about soft extraction giving beautifully balanced tannins. The wine was matured in 100% French oak
barriques for 18 months, with 30% being new.
Winemaker Comments
The ninth release of our Wildwood Road Cabernet Sauvignon.
Brokenwood Wines previously included Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon in blends with the first in 1983. Wildwood Road connects Caves Road at Yallingup on the coast to inland Carbunup and is home to several high-quality vineyards.
A return to from following the challenging 2021 vintage, with an
excellent vintage in Margaret River. The season started beautifully with a wet spring and late flowering, followed by a warm and dry growing season, wines of pure fruit and great length. The pedigree of Cabernet Sauvignon from this region is on display.

Pairs well with steak tartare or lamb dishes.
Drink
Drinking well now but will improve with extended bottle age.
