2023 Rosato, NSW & VIC
The colour has a very appealing pale coral hue. Sangiovese has a floral element to its aroma and this dominates with Turkish delight and almost rose water in the background. The palate has vibrant spice/ginger notes and a dry finish, and while technically a red wine, has plenty of zesty acid. Perfect out of the ice bucket on a blue sky day.

2023 Sangiovese, Beechworth, VIC
Vibrant young colours and medium density. Very fragrant and appealing nose of red/maraschino cherry aromas. The background shows sweet oak, although the wine was not in any new barrels. Bright, savoury Sangiovese fruit on the palate with juicy acidity. Typical drying tannins and red spice/ginger notes with a great finish. Immensely enjoyable.

2021 Cricket Pitch Red, Cabernet Sauvignon/ Shiraz/ Merlot
Superb aromas with lifted Cabernet fruit and background vanillin oak. The dark Christmas cake flavours from the McLaren Vale component along with the ripe tannins adds great length and persistence to the finish. Cabernet is not ‘dense’ in terms of colour but this wine has lovely purple hues – perfect 3 years on release. Simply one of the best Cricket Pitch reds.

2021 Area Blend Shiraz, NSW, VIC & SA
The aromas are red to dark fruit, dark cherry and plum, followed by slight choc-mint notes. A perfect colour with deep red and purple hues. A full-bodied style at 14% alcohol is nicely weighted in that the tannins are fine and ripe and the oak perfectly nuanced. Spiced fruit characters on the finish give this wine a long after taste.
